Simes issued statues and fountains sketch book
16.06.2011.
SIMES, the world-known producer of outdoor lighting fixtures, has issued its 7th sketch book, this time dedicated to lighting of monuments such as statues and fountains.
Monuments may be the most recognizable symbols of a city, increasing its image by night. Good lighting has the power to enrich and revive the architectural and environmental heritage, restoring the city’s historical and artistic value.
Lighting up a fountain can easily be done like a natural complement. Not only it boosts up the visual effect, but turns the water from a dark mass in an emotional element. New technologies, such as LEDs and various fiber optics, allow the water to obtain a wide range of colors.
The position and the choice of the right light source depends on what is being lightened, surface type and color, volumes to be highlighted, observation points, distance between light source and lit subject, surrounding light, desired effect.
