Louis Poulsen wins an AIA award

Louis Poulsen Lighting Inc. is the first lighting manufacturer and design company in history ever to win an award by American Institute of Architects (AIA). AIA Honors for Collaborative Achievement recognized Louis Poulsen as the company which had „a beneficial influence in architectural profession“.
This is the highest honor that AIA can award to one company or individual worldwide.
Lighting designer and professor emeritus of architecture in the University of California, Berkeley, in this occasion wrote: „Louis Poulsen is the most important company in the history of lighting. No other one had the commitment to architects and architecture like they do.“
Foster+Partners is one of the many famous architecture companies that worked with Louis Poulsen. They called it „a fruitful partnership“.
Louis Poulsen Lighting Inc. has been present for over 100 years. It was founded in 1874 in Copenhagen, Denmark, and evolved into a company that creates the most beautiful products in lighting industry. One of the most notable products is certainly the PH Artichoke, which recently celebrated its 50th birthday. Honoring such jubilee, Louis Poulsen made 50 special pieces of the largest one, with 72 leaves gilded in 24-carat gold.
